Definitely overthought this- decided to go with a single 'spine' and I think the flow of the pedestal is maintained. The base will be bolted to the rock on the final iteration. Still need to rivet the spine to the swoop; the rivets will be roughly the same size as the bolts.  Waiting on a special rivet header tool from a smith in Utah. Could make the header/bottom tool myself, but a fellow smith needs some work. Waiting on the tool and taking a break from this sundial and will go back to the  digital equatorial.
