Moving the dials around for a show. As I moved the sundials around to different spots it reminded me of the TARDIS in Dr. Who: Time and Relative Dimension In Space  Slate gray patina (natural steel color), and brass highlights on leaves. This one has been in my notebook since before the pandemic and then evolved over the past month or so. Many things learned, and a few minor changes I'd make if done again. Anyway, finally done except for the patina. Decisions, decisions ... ... is worth more than a foot of jade. A real Rube Goldberg set up to the the sundial ready for tacking.  Really close to finishing up this dial. Some initial sanding on the base before putting it all together. The bear was just a casual observer Gave the leaves a bit of life with some localized torch work. Got the stems attached. Tomorrow is weld clean up up day before the stems are posted through the bottom plate and butt welded. Apologies for the cluttered COVID bench. |
