The last few things that I will likely have time to forge before we set up the booth in Creede, CO for the Days of '92 (4th of July): chiles (with an 'e'). It's been two years since I did these and they were a little tricker than I remembered. While most smiths have trouble tapering the chile, I stumble on the sepal. Most folks don't even notice, but there are 5 sets of 'grooves' around the sepal that are aligned with the dimples on the side of the chiles. Getting the sepal to lay correctly and to get the right tool to make the grooves is a bumpy bit for me. Finally got it close on the last one...got to write some of this down instead of relearning it each time. sigh.
