Finished the mounting bracket for the plinth, next step is to chase the numbers. Then... put it all together
Starting the support system for the dial. For Creede this mean that it needs to be 37.8 degrees. These are the scrolls for the rest of the support
A bit of backstory not mentioned in previous posts: I've tried making a gnomonless sundial and ended up throwing it in the waste pile in the backyard. I had forgotten to make the dial wide enough to allow it to be used throughout the year; did not account for the changing angle of the sun across the seasons. This is how the new gnomonless dial started a bit ago and now feel like I'm a much smarter dialer.
The picture of the backside/bottom is fine, but the picture of the front/inside has a bunch of glare that I couldn't figure out how to mitigate. So there it is ... First pass and then the second pass on the Wild Mountain Rose. Probably shouldn't look at it this close; some areas areas are pretty rough. I guess that's why its 'chasing' and not 'engraving'
The start of the next sundial. Drawings of the columbine and the mountain rose are complete. Drawing of the Rose is mounted and the initial chasing is finished. Still pretty raw and a lot of cleanup to do. The second carpal tunnel surgery has left me with pretty serious cramps in my hand and had to call it a day.
